Meet The Team
Adam Lawson – Director
Adam is the founder of Swift Tree Services and worked tirelessly for many years as our lead climber, as well as co-owner and manager - and found time to study for his level 2 Cert Arb at Reaseheath College. Adam is one of our two surveyors for jobs and focuses particularly on commercial sales. He also administers our fleet of vehicles and machines – having a passionate interest in mechanical arboriculture and has pioneered our use of HIAB crane and grapplesaw. Outside of Swift Tree Services, Adam has recently retired after 20 years as a retained firefighter with Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service at Poynton Fire Station and enjoys going to the gym and the Poynton Pakora – not necessarily in that order!
Stephen Warner - Director
Steve joined the company as co-director in 2013, having worked previously with an arboriculture company in Yorkshire. His previous career was in the film industry as a camera technician – although this feels like a very long time ago! Steve studied for his level 2 arboriculture qualification at Merrist Wood College in Surrey. He is one of our 2 surveyors and also works to administer the day to day operations of the teams – managing our personnel and resources to maximise our efficient running. Outside of work, Steve enjoys family dog walks and volunteers as a junior cricket coach in the village.
Tina Marshall - Office Manager
Tina joined Swift Tree Services in 2023, bringing a wealth of experience in administration – having worked previously in the pharmaceutical industry. She is our first point of contact for clients and also manages our bookkeeping and HR requirements, as well as doing her very best to organise Adam & Steve’s ongoing list of tasks to be completed! She is enthusiastic to further her understanding of the science and practices of arboriculture – making her a bit of a tree-bore at home! Outside of work, Tina is a regular gym-attendee, works hard on her allotment, and has recently taken up golf.
Martin O’Mahony - Climbing Arborist & Team Leader
Martin has been a part of the Swift team since 2019, having previously worked in Audio/Visual operations for live events. He is a keen climber and machine operator with IPAF qualification for operating our MEWP, together with his CS32 - medium tree felling, CS40 & CS41 - aerial tree pruning and rigging operations. Martin has an exceptional eye for detail, making him the ideal choice to have been trained to become a qualified LOLER inspector and now looks after all of our climbing and rigging equipment. He has also recently volunteered to assist at the UK & Ireland Tree Climbing Competition. Outside of work, Martin is an outdoors enthusiast, spending his weekends climbing mountains, cold-water swimming, or sometimes both! He also enjoys adventurous travel abroad.
Rob Heathcote - Climbing Arborist & Machine Operator
Rob came onboard with us in 2021, straight from having completed his Level 3 HND in forestry & arboriculture at Reaseheath College. He is a keen climber and machine operator, particularly specialising in operating our Arbdigger with it’s various attachments. He also holds an IPAF qualification to operate our MEWP and most recently attained his NPTC CS32 medium tree felling, plus CS40 & CS41 - aerial tree pruning and rigging operations. In his spare time, Rob tends to be very busy, with his mechanical expertise in maintaining chainsaws and other small machinery being in high demand. He is also proud owner with his partner, Ellie, of a border collie puppy, Barney.
Ben Mason – Ground Worker & HIAB Operator
Ben has been a member of the Swift Team since 2021, joining us with no prior experience, but an enthusiasm to try a new career path. He has made great progression with gaining his competencies to operate chainsaws, woodchippers, stumpgrinders, MEWP and our HIAB crane. Ben is an excellent people-person and a great asset to the company when it comes to client relationships. At home, Ben has a busy social calendar and enjoys family holidays with his partner Becky and their daughter Rory.
Sam Lee - Ground Worker & Trainee Arborist
Sam is our most recent addition to the arb teams, having joined the company in 2023. He has a strong work ethic and comes from a background of having worked in gardens since he was 14. He is making great steps forward with his training, having achieved competency certificates for woodchipper & stumpgrinder operations and most recently in Climbing & Aerial Rescue and chainsaw maintenance/small tree felling. These qualifications now allow him to begin to develop as our next climbing arborist. Outside of work, Sam is passionate about cars & motorcycling – last count being 7 bikes in his collection! He is usually out on one of them at the weekend and spends his evenings maintaining/repairing/modifying in the workshop.
